MR. WILLIAM F. CASEY
VIRGINIA BEACH-----William F. Casey, 79, passed away Sunday, March 7th, 2010, at his home in Virginia Beach after a brief illness. Billy was born May 25th, 1930 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was the second son of Stephen J. and Emily M. Casey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Sharon Walsh Casey. Billy graduated from Holy Trinity High School in the Ocean View section of Norfolk. He attended the Norfolk Division of William and Mary and graduated from the University of Virginia. He played basketball at both schools and participated in the first ACC Basketball Tournament in 1954. He was a member of the Alumni Association of both UVA and the Norfolk Division of William and Mary College. He was lifelong member and former President of the Chesapeake Athletic Club. Billy was an avid sports fan of ODU and UVA as well as a faithful cheerleader for all of his grandchildren�s sporting events.
Billy was employed by Virginia National Bank (now Bank of America) where he retired in 1995. Billy is survived by his son, William B. Casey and wife Noreen, daughters Sharon Lynn Casey, Devoraux Martin Casey, Theresa Casey Agles and husband John, his 7 grandchildren; Stephen, Meagan, Erin, Avery, Arly, Gillian and Olivia. He is also survived by two brothers Steve Casey of Norfolk, and John Casey and his wife Kathleen of Virginia Beach and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, on Wednesday, March 10th from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00A.M. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church by Father W. Daniel Beeman. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454. Alexandria, VA 22312.
